"Hello", by Amanda H

Hello AAS fans!

Wow - we are at the end of May - so here is my last page share for the month.
Today, I combined the wood grain paper from the Kaisercraft Memory Lane Collection
with the delightful florals in the Carta Bella Flora No 2 Collection.
They joined beautifully with some 2 Crafty Chipboard and Colour Blast!

I started with the lovely Kaisercraft wood grain paper (I cannot resist these wood grain papers!). Such a classic yet interesting background for any page! For this page I added some interest in two ways: 1. with some 2 Crafty Chipboard and 2. with some Colour Blast.

For the chipboard - I glued some pieces of  2 Crafty Mini Hexagon Clumps directly to the background and then gave them a light coat of Gesso.
Next I used some Colour Blast Colour Paste - this time grabbing the tub of Bling - because everything looks better with gold! I spread this paste through this awesome floral stencil using a metal palette knife. Next I made some gold splatters around the page with Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Bling.

Here is a close up of some of this background detail:

Now let's take a look at the other clusters and finishing touches.

Throughout the page, I created a clusters using loads of stickers from the Carta Bella Sticker Sheet. Florals, circles, banners and words - lots of great stickers to add interest.

In the bottom right corner, I also included a blue Green Tara Tea Rose, which I gave a spray of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Bling for some sparkle! I also inked green some lovely 2 Crafty Tiny Leaf Stems and tucked these amongst the clusters.

For the title, I used the "hello" sticker from the Carta Bella Sticker Sheet,
layered on the stencilling, with some more stickers and chipboard.

That's my page for this week. Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Life is Sweet with Fancy Pants "The Bright Side" by Fiona Johnstone

 Hello Everyone

So excited about this collection I am creating with this week, Fancy Pants The Bright Side - aptly named as you can see with all these lovely bright, fun colours and supercool embellishments.

Life is Sweet

Yellow is one of my favourite colours, especially to scrap with and this cool Look on the Bright Side paper made a perfect background choice. I softened it slightly by matting onto some white cardstock and adding a black penned border.
Ephemera packs are one of my most favourite embellishments - you get so many pieces in the packets and they are fantastic for adding co-ordinated embellishing to your page.  I really love the variety in this particular pack, especially the playing card and the die-cut leaves.
I've added a couple of small clusters to complete my larger cluster and finish off the page, all created with the ephemera pack!
Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

This Boy using Jillibean Soup 2 Cool for School by Kerryn Fry

Good morning everyone.
Today I've created my second page using Jillibean Soup.
The 2 Cool for School collection is the perfect boy range,
it's colourful and bright, with great patterns.
The recent photos are of Mr now 14 playing soccer.

I have started with my favourite background, Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
The background effect has been created using the Chevron Crafters Workshop 6x6 template
to tie in with the chevrons on the patterned paper Wild Child.
and Squeezed Lemonade to match the colours in the patterned papers
and stenciled a rainbow effect across the page.
A black gel pen has been used to highlight a few chevrons in three different places.

I have fussy cut a few more chevrons from the Wild Child paper to add on the page.
The chevrons have been given dimension with foam tape
and placed to highlight the smaller photos.

I've used foam tape under the photos and embellishments to create some layers.
The B&W photos have been matted with Black Cardstock to give them some clear definition.

The quote has been cut from the Bite Size Bite paper,
it's the perfect quote for this page.
The remaining embellishment used to decorate the page

The 2 Crafty Zig Zag Border has been used to frame Mr 14 in the main photo.
The border was given a base coat of gesso, then covered with Sqeezed Lemonade
and Broken China Distress Oxides, these blended nicely in the middle.

The 2 Crafty title This Boy was kept simple, a coat of gesso
and then covered with a thin coat of charcoal ink.

I hope you have enjoyed the process of the page today.
Have a lovely weekend and please check back on Monday
for Fiona's next project.

"Meeting" by Amanda H

Hi again everyone,

Today I am sharing a page of my friend and I - meeting on the other side of the world, when we happened to be in Amsterdam on the same day!

I started with the new Kaisercraft collection - Pen and Ink. I do love these neutral Kaisercraft papers - it gives us the freedom to team the neutrals up with whatever colours we want! And I went with pinks and teals. And I'd been saving some Prima flowers, so that was my go-to to finish the page.

I started my background with the "Layered" paper from the range- a simple yet interesting paper- perfect as a background. After mounting the photo on black, I layered the photo on a piece of "Stamps" paper from the range. As I was putting the page together, I decided I needed some colour and I found the really OLD piece of patterned floral in my stash and added a square of this at the back. This paper lead me to some of the colour choices I made for the embellishments.
The main cluster on the page is in the bottom right corner of the page. And there are so many beautiful embellishments here.

Firstly, I used a 2Crafty Sabine circle frame at the base - which I inked a soft pink, before spraying with Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Blush. In the circle, I added the Prima flowers from the Zella Teal range, giving the large floral flower a spray of the same Colour Blast Blush spray to make it pink!

There is a lovely speciality paper in the Pen and Ink range, and I fussy cut some of the butterflies out. I also sprayed them with Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Envy and Singing the Blues.

From the top of the cluster and to the left, I used some more 2 Crafty chipboard. This time I used Maggie' Swirls which I painted with White gesso, before giving a spray of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Snow White.

I repeated some elements in the top left corner of the page, using another 2Crafty Sabine circle frame, a fussy cut butterfly from this paper, and a leaf from Zella Teal Flowers set.
You will notice a few different stickers amongst the clusters - I took some word stickers from the Zella Teal pack and some soft pink puffy circles from the My Minds Eye Blush pack.

For the title, I used a mix of alphabet stickers and some handwriting. The black alphabet stickers come from the Pinkfresh Studio Cardstock sticker pack, as does the little journal box that I wrote on.
So many little details and fun combinations to create this page. I love raiding my collection of All About Scrapbooks embellishments - always something to finish a page!

Thanks for looking.
Amanda

Sweet by Pink Fresh Studio Let your Heart Decide

Hello everyone

Back with another layout created with Pink Fresh Studios Let your Heart Decide.

Sweet
I just loved this paper with all the hearts - Caper - and knew the hearts would be fab to fussy cut and they were the basis for my design of this photo that I love of one of the giraffes at San Diego Zoo, I just love how close we were to them.

I combined the paper hearts with some of the Epoxy Heart Stickers to create a feature.

I layered up some of the other papers around the photo and added a doily for texture.

Then I finished off my layout with a small cluster on the other side for some balance.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

My Angel on Earth using Kaisercraft Memory Lane by Kerryn Fry

Good morning AAS followers.
Can you believe we are already half way through May?
Today I have created my page from the beautiful collection
by Kaisercraft Memory Lane.
The photo is about 7 years old, but it is one of my favourites.
I've changed things up this week!
No cardstock to be seen.
I have used the patterned paper Kaisercraft Raw Wood as my base,
I love the wood panel look.
The background effect has been created using white Gesso
and the 6x6 Heart Crafter's Workshop Template.
I've then used watercolour paint to shade the hearts.
The paper has been left to dry naturally, then I've flicked watercolor paint
in black, white and soft green across the page
and unfortunately, the floor.

I have fussy cut the border piece from the green side of 'Mint Blush'
and some flowers from the 'Minty Rose' patterned paper.
The patterned papers have then been layered under the photos,
with a mixture of dark and light colours.
Plenty of 3D foam has been used to lift different elements of the page.

Scrap cardboard is also a perfect solution to lift larger elements like the photos
and a great alternative to foam tape.
By lifting the photo, I have been able to tuck certain embellishments under the photo.
I've built up embellishment clusters on both sides of the photo
and added a smaller cluster at the bottom of the page.

The Kaisercraft Memory Lane Collectables worked perfectly to build the clusters.
The bottom strips on each of the patterned paper are really handy to use on the page.
I've added the words in two parts on the page to frame the photo.

I have used a black gel pen to add some faux stitching on different parts of the page.
Some simple black touches of pen and splashes help to tie in with the photo.

The 2 Crafty title My Angel on Earth was base coated with white gesso
and then decorated with Chrystallina glitter glue.
Alays love to add a bit of sparkle!

That's my page for this week.
Hope you have enjoyed it and have a lovely weekend.
Please pop back on Monday to check out Fiona's next page.

"Awesome", by Amanda H

Hi everyone!

Today I am smashing stereotypes - I am inspired by papers and colours,
not by "boy" or "girl" ranges.
I have colourful girls and I love using ANY paper range with photos of them.
Today I am using the latest "boy" collection from Echo Park - "Imagine that" with a cool
photo of my girls building lego together.
Combined with some Colour Blast splatters and 2Crafty chipboard, this page and
range could work with any photos!

I started with a white cardstock base, and then used two panels of patterned paper from the Imagine That range: Galaxy Quest, & Super Dogs.

Wanting to keep the red and navy theme, I mixed some Colour Blast Shimmer Dusts (in Navy and Candy) with some water and splattered that on the papers to create interest in the background. This matched well with the Galaxy Quest paper which came with some white splatters on the paper design!

I mounted the photo on some white cardstock and a piece of the reverse of Galaxy Quest.
For my title, I cut the "Awesome" 4 inch Journaling card from the Journaling Card paper.

Let's look at some close ups to see how I used 2Crafty Chipboard and stickers to finish the page.
I started with two awesome pieces of 2Crafty chipboard, which I used across the page.
Firstly, I used the Party Banner Border, which I inked navy blue. For some sparkle, I sprayed the banner with Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Snow White.
The second piece of 2Crafty Chipboard layered across the page was the Swirly Star Border, which I inked in mint.
Then I tucked and layered a heap of stickers from the EP - Imagine That Boy Element Sticker Sheet and some Bella Blvd - Puffy Stars. There are stars, cogs, paper planes, a robot, banners and call outs - all such fun!

What a fun page!
Thanks for looking today!
