"Year 6", by Amanda H.

Hello again,

We have made it to the end of August! The year is going fast but there is still plenty of inspiration from the team coming your way from now until the end of the year!

Today I bring you a page using Kaisercraft Indigo Skies. I did not get this range when it was first released, but recently I was drawn to it's prettiness (perfect for my girls) but also the lovely blue tones (& the non-pink factor!).

Here is my page!

I started with two base papers in the range: Shibori and Midnight. I mounted the two photos in Midnight, before placing this sheet at the back, with the subtle white and grey tones of Shibori on top. I got really lucky when I saw the paper strip quote at the bottom of the Shibori paper. "Start each day with a grateful heart & stay true to yourself" - so perfect for first day of school photos! I stuck along the bottom of the layout as a feature.

Of course, the main focus on this page is the butterflies! As soon as I saw the Chambray paper, I knew I needed to fussy cut some butterflies! I cut 5 butterflies and stuck them angled up the page, like they are flying away. To add to this effect, I machine stitches through the butterflies, and used foam tape to add dimensions to their wings.

The final feature you may notice on this background is the splatters and painting. I used Tim Holtz - Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Faded Jeans by pressing some ink on a stamp block, adding water and using the watered ink to splatter and also to paint the outer edges of the paper. I also added some subtle splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Snow White to this.

Let's take a close look at the butterflies, and what other embellishments I have used.

For the title, I used Summer Light Thickers, with some strips of washi tape underneath it.

I used some 2Crafty Hearts, which I firstly inked using the Tim Holtz - Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Faded Jeans, before embossing. To emboss, I used Colour Blast Embossing Powder in Snow White, and when you emboss with this over the blue ink, it made them shiny and glittery!

The extra stickers I added to the page include: Bella Blvd Puffy Hearts and Stars, as well as the round Puffy sticker from the St Tropez Puffy Sticker set.

Wild with Echo Park Jungle Safari by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Finishing off the month with a fun page created using Echo Parks Jungle Safari.

Wild
I love the timber background on this paper, and have teamed it up with greens, oranges and yellows to create a jungle feel. I love how well it all goes together.

My embellishments co-ordinate with the natural timber background, using kraft and wood veneer to create this effect, with a pop of colour from this stunning yellow flower.

A close-up of some of the wood veneer - I've used these from a number of different collections; Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Wild at Heart for the title. I've finished the layout with a little more colour using the ever versatile enamel dots.

Captured Moments using Kaisercraft Barber Shoppe by Kerryn Fry

Happy Friday everyone!
Kerryn here with another project to share.
Today's page has been created using the collection Kaisercraft Barber Shoppe.
This is a wonderful masculine collection with a soft muted palette that worked
perfectly with these photos of my boys.
I have randomly applied three Distress Inks, Hickory Smoke, Evergreen Bough and
Chipped Sapphire, to the Kraft cardstock through a Crafter's Workshop Templates
and Tim Holtz Layering Stencil. It gives the background a little colour without dominating.
The 2 Crafty Kite has been painted with Distress Paint
and I have added faux stitching with a black pen.
All of the 2 Crafty chipboard has been painted with metallic paint.
The 2 Crafty Fishing Net Bits I have also added some Glossy Accents for a watery finish.
I stole a few splashes from the 2 Crafty Splat Puddles to add to the page.
They were painted and then given a good coat of Glossy Accents.

The Kaisercraft wooden shapes have been left with the natural finish to blend with the colours.
I have hand cut a few pieces from the Clippers paper, the quote, ticket
and journaling spot work perfectly on the page.
The touches of black cardstock give a great pop against the muted colours.

Thanks for visiting the AAS blog today.
Enjoy your weekend and happy crafting.

"Hello Ocean", by Amanda H

Hi everyone,

Another Wednesday for me to share!

Today I have used the new collection from Prima: St Tropez. It is definitely beach/ocean themed, but the colours and patterns are so unique, it is versatile. Today is a beach page, but watch this space, I have already started using the collection on another page on a completely different topic!

Here is my page, and some close ups:

I started with a sheet of white cardstock  and for some interest I stamped some images on the white background - I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Pad in Faded Jeans. I also pressed ink onto the stamp block, added water and used the watered ink to splatter on the page.

Next I chose the "Port of St Tropez" sheet of paper. I loved the wood planks and amazing colours of this paper, so used it in a strip down the page, adding machine stitching to the sides.

I mounted the photo on more white cardstock, and another paper in the range, as well as using foam tape for some more dimension.

The last thing I did with this range of Prima papers, was to cut the strip quote from the La Fontanette Paper (the quote was just too perfect for this page!) to run across the page under the photo, and punch a circle (for journaling) from the Sainte Maxime paper.
Now let's look at the clusters....
I love the Puffy Stickers in this collection - I used the word "ocean" for the title of the page. Combined with a sticker word from a CVS sticker sheet, I think it completed the title perfectly.

The clusters to the top and bottom of the photo combine flowers, chipboard and stickers, as well as some bits of muslin from my stash.

Flowers: I used predominately the St. Tropez Flowers - Isla Marina from the range, but I did add a few Kaisercraft Mini paper blooms in yellow for some variation.

Chipboard: I used 2Crafty Foliage Set 1. I embossed the chipboard using Colour Blast Embossing Powder in Sienna, which complimented the copper tones that are in theses Prima papers.

Stickers: I used a few stickers from the Prima Puffy Stickers in the range, but also added some Bella Bvld Puffy stars, as they were the perfect blue!

I decided once the page was done, that I needed a few more splatters, so I used Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Sunshine, and Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in Sienna, to add some final yellow and copper tones to the page.

Radiator Springs with Cartopia by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Happy Monday. Today I am back with one last Cars inspired layout, using Carta Bella's Cartopia collection again.

 Radiator Springs

Now I love this number plate paper, so wanted it to feature prominently as it ties in with the background of my photo and really pops with the black cardstock. But first I needed something to help the background paper along.

I've used a stencil and some Colour Blast paste in Steel to create the cogs on the cardstock. I love how this ties in with the colours in the photos background.

My embellishments I have kept simple, just a couple of stickers and some 2Crafty chipboard. The cog I have inked in a mix of black and grey, where the arrows are simply inked in black so they stand out on the busy paper.

You are my Happy using Jillibean Soup Healthy Hello by Kerryn Fry

Hi there to everyone!
Another Friday here again already.
For this week's project I have gone back to the beautiful
Jillibean Soup collection, Healthy Hello.
My page features my big sis and one of her grand daughters.

I had loads of fun with the background for this page.
I started with the white cardstock and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink.
After planning the layout of my photo and papers using the ink, water and some plastic packaging,
I have applied it to the cardstock to frame the features of my design.
After the first layer of ink had dried, I added the Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber
Distress Oxide with the Kaisercraft Marble Stamp.
The final layer added is blank ink and the Tiny Dot stamp.

The title for my page has been fussy cut from the journaling card side of Bite Size Bits
It forms part of the top cluster, with a few flowers cut from Jar of Jambo paper
and some arrows from Hint of Hello
I have added some faux stitching around part of the title to let the word pop.

There are a heap of fussy cut flowers from both Hint of Hello and Jar of Jambo
patterned papers to form part of the larger cluster.
I have added dimension with foam tape and some fussy cut words from Herbed Hola
The butterfly is from a Kaisercraft Clear Sticker Sheet

The arrows have been hand cut from Aged Aloha and the little hearts
Plenty more foam tape added.

That's all for today.
Thank you for visiting the blog today.
I hope you have a happy, crafty weekend and remember Fiona will be back on
Monday with another project to share with you.

"Cute" by Amanda H.

Hello again.... welcome to my Wednesday share!

Today I have.... MORE PINK! With 3 girls and a baby niece, some days it is hard to avoid pink. But as long as I am not wearing it, I do love pink. Luckily there are so many papers at All About Scrapbooks, I can always get more pink! I was excited this month, when I noticed my new papers from Pebbles "Girl Squad" collection, coordinated so well with my Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Hello Lovely" collection.

Today I am sharing my page that sees these two collections teaming up.

I built up the layers of the different papers, matching pinks, with black and white and the soft blue. I love the little "hello gorgeous" which was cut from the Hello Friend paper in the Pebbles range.

I finished the page off with some stickers and flowers, keeping it simple after all the detail in the papers!
I have used a variety of stickers from a couple of different packets... the full list in the product list below. I kept with pinks, but added in the highlights of black also.

My favourite Bella Blvd Puffy Hearts are used, as well as Kaisercraft mini paper blooms, both in black.

Enjoy Today with Fancy Pants Dream Big by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I am playing with Fancy Pants Dream Big collection to scrap
another holiday layout.

Enjoy Today

Don't you just LOVE this gorgeous background paper?
I loved it the minute I saw it and figured it was perfect for a car themed layout!

I've used co-ordinating papers from the collection, which also tie in with my photo colours.

I've then used Carta Bella Cartopia Embellishments to add those extra car details before finishing off my page with a 2Crafty chipboard title - Enjoy Today! Don't you just love the police car sticking out - it reminded me of part of the cars ride.
