Basic Grey Highline - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

The end of the month is upon us already, only 3 months left of the year - yikes!
Today I am sharing a layout with you I created using the very colourful Basic Grey Highline range. I love working with bright, vibrant paper ranges like this one.

Here is my layout, Cherish of my daughter and youngest niece together on their last visit.

Because I was using so many bright colours, including the hot pink background,  I have used  black accents which really pop against all the colour. I have inked my background with a mask in black ink, added some black doilies, a black title and even some black leaves. I have also edged my main paper layers in black pen, before finishing off the layout with a little more pink!
Some close ups,

showing masking detail and hand doodled edges. You can see I have kept the embellishments to a minimum with all the bold colour going on, a simple flair badge and some sequins on this side and a small flower cluster on the other.

Thanks for stopping by

Till next time
Fiona

More October Afternoon Public Library - By Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone & welcome

Today I have 2 final layouts to share using October Afternoon - Public Library collection.
I have to say that this has been such a fun range of papers & embellies to play with.  I love each & every page I've created with it, and it has been so super versatile, which is fantastic :)

My first layout is based on sketch #123 at Sketchabilities
"Girls gone wild"

For my background, I first dabbed on some watered down Teal Gelatos using some cling wrap, then I added some stamping in red ink.  I've also used the new Triangles template from Kaisercraft, and have randomly traced out a few different sized triangles onto the Biography paper with a black journal pen....and I cut a few triangle shapes from a variety of papers & stuck them so that they sat inside a few of the traced triangles from the template.....I then finished off with a few splashes of glimmermists.

I've added some 2Crafty Maple leaves to my cluster of Green Tara & Petaloo flowers...and there's also an October Afternoon 9-5 Tin Pin (Flair) in there as well.

With the Maple Leaves, I first sprayed them with water & then scrunched them up in my hand & worked them until they were soft & resembled nothing like a leaf.  I then carefully opened them back out & gently pulled the different layers apart, giving it a bit more shape & dimension.  I finished them off by colouring them with a green Gelato & then randomly painted the edges & centre vein pieces with some gesso.

Another 2Crafty piece....Mini Camera.  Oh boy, these are just the cutest little cameras ever!  I love them & couldn't wait to start using them on my pages!  I have coloured it with Gelatos again, and then enhanced a few of the features with a white & black journal pen.  I hand cut a little tag from the "Children's Section" paper, then tied a small piece of twine & arranged the tag in under the camera.

The papers are layered up under the photo, with the corners punched...and there's also some more of the border stickers in there too, as well as some more 2Crafty - pieces cut from the Circular Panel & coloured with black gelato.

A few more layers on the side of the page to fit in with the sketch....plus more pieces of border sticker, 2Crafty Circular Panel again, and also Green Tara flowers & another Tin Pin :)

I've added my journaling directly onto the page & have hand drawn a bit of a border around the other edges with a journal pen.  The pic is of a few of my GF's gone totally wild & having fun with my camera....way back in 1986 :)

Next layout is this one that was sooooo much fun to create...

"Weee"

I just had to create a page that featured the gorgeous balloon & cute little animals from the "Story Time" paper....and somehow it all just fell into place.  I normally struggle to use large pieces like this on my pages, but this one wasn't the case at all & I love how it has turned out.

I have mounted the balloon piece up on some scrap pieces of corrugated cardboard to give it a bit of height & definition on the page & I've used my newly acquired Prima Stiched Squares stamp to stamp a variety of different sized squares onto to a variety of papers that have been layered over & under each other after cutting them from the different papers.
I really love the effect these have given :)

I have journaled around the page to create a bit of a border.

As you can see, the stamped squares are just randomly placed over each other
giving a great layered effect.

Here is a bit of a close up of the different stamped squares....with a small cluster of Prima, Petaloo & Green Tara Flowers.....PLUS some of the cute 2Crafty Mixed Buttons that I've inked in a few different colours.  The 2 strips across the top of the page are more pieces from the Border Stickers sheet.

One of the TidBits journal spots that I've added the basic When & Where....with more close ups of the stamped squares.

And here is a close up of the super cute balloon :)

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my creations with this fabulous, versatile range....and I also hope you've been inspired to want to create with them :)

Until next time....Happy Scrapping!  xxx

More Kaisercraft Teddy Bears Picnic - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Today I am sharing with you one last page using the cute Teddy Bears Picnic range from Kaisercraft. This range is super cute for baby photos and I have a few Pixie Fotos from when Zane was a baby that suit this range.

My layout Beary Special:

I have chosen a background from the Simple Stories range for this page as I need a light coloured background as my photo is so dark. I have then layered a selection of the Teddy Bears Picnic papers together and added some stamping with some Kaisercraft Texture Stamps.

A couple of close-ups of my embellishments. I have utilised the fabulous collectibles that come with the Kaisercraft range as well as the sticker sheet. The large cogs are Bo Bunny diecuts.

And this cute little bear from the collectibles pack sitting on a suitcase stack also from the collectibles. I wanted a little something in this corner as Zane is looking and smiling at something off photo and thought it would flow to have him actually looking at something on the page. You can also see the stamping I have used, using the newer Morocco texture stamp and one of my favourites - tiny dots.

That's all for me this week, I hope I have inspired you to get scrapping with this cute range.

Thanks for stopping by,
Fiona

October Afternoon "Public Library" & Kaisercraft "Basecoat Christmas" - by Linda Eggleton

Good morning everyone & welcome :)

Today I have a few project to share....including some of my Kaisercraft DT work for
September, using one of the new Christmas Collection - Basecoat Christmas.

But first up is another layout using October Afternoon's "Public Library" collection....and again,
I've created a page that is not library/reading/school/book related.
I am REALLY loving working with this collection....the colours, the patterns & it's versatility
makes working with it a breeze...and also FUN :)

"Pure Joy"
(Based on the 1st September Stuck Sketch)

I have used the "Due Date" paper for the background, and even though it is quite bold in it's colour & pattern, I've also added a bit of stencil work to it using the Memory Box - Rings & Puddles stencil with some coloured texture paste.  I quite like how it is fairly subtle against the background, yet not completely lost in it.

For my cluster I've used some Green Tara flowers, a Flutterby Flair, punched butterflies....plus some 2Crafty gears tucked in at the edges.  I've also included a few pieces of tangled up cotton thread in there as well, and the half circle piece at the top of the photo is one of the Pink Paislee - Circle Artisan Elements that I've coloured with my Gelatos

Another smaller cluster of the same.

I love the effect of using a corner punch to round off the edges of the papers in my layers....it really changes the look dramatically compared to leaving them with the squared corners .

I've used strips of paper & also stickers from the Border Stickers sheet
to create some layers in under my photos....which are my gorgeous little G. Niece, Olivia, having an absolute ball on the swing at the park <3

A list of products used, including links to the AAS store, is at the bottom of my post.

Next up is my Kaisercraft projects using the amazing Basecoat Christmas Collection - and I have to say, if you have loved all 3 of KC's previous Basecoat collections, you will LOVE this one too!

"I Beleive in Santa Claus"

I've used the reverse side of the gorgeous "Flora" paper for my background with a touch of mixed media in under my layers of paper strips. How cool is the red timber decking on this paper?!
I absolutely love it!

I've created a cluster with a few different coloured paper blooms...and pieces from the Collectables pack. There's also some strips of Kaisercraft lace and also border stickers in amongst
the paper strips as well.

The stencil work is using the new release template - Moroccon Lattice & the stamping is a new release stamp - Morocco. Love them both!

Here you can see the lace a bit better....as well as some punched border strips, border sticker from the sticker sheet, and also some cut off strips from various papers.

More collectables pieces...and a close up shot of the main area of the page....which has some of the Captured Moments 3x4 cards layered in under the photo.  These cards are great for layering on your page....and they make it so quick & easy too.

Kaisercraft products: Flora P1603, Natural P1609, Berry P1604, Paper Pad PP947, Sticker Sheet SS254, Collectables CT804, Base Coat Captured Moments 3×4 cards CM118, Cream Lace EM927, Coconut Paper Blooms F627, Honey Paper Blooms F628, Fire Red Paper Blooms F664, Olive Mini Paper Blooms F650, Fire Red Mini Paper Blooms F669, Moroccon Lattice Template T614, Morocco Stamp CS191, Saffron Ink Pad IP728, Double Sided Tape T314, Foam Tape T303.
Other: Modelling Paste, Distress ink, Mists, Border Punch, Button, Embroidery thread

"Christmas Eve"

I've kept the background nice & clean with this one....using the Christmas Bells paper - I love the old weathered look & feel to the timbers on this paper <3
And.....Oh how I love the christmas decorations at the top of the page...they look so real & 3D!!

I have, however, added a bit of stencil work on the green piece under the photo...using the new Stars template.

Another cluster of Paper Blooms, stickers & Collectables pieces

I've added a strip of KC cream lace along the bottom of the papers for some added texture....and some stamping using the Basecoat Christmas clear stamps.  And there's also some of the new release printed tape in there too....Chevron - Mint <3

I've also used one of the Basecoat Christmas - Captured Moments 3x4 cards at the side of the photo.

Kaisercraft Products: Bells P1605, Berry P1604, Paper Pad PP947, Collectables CT804, Sticker Sheet SS254,Base Coat Christmas Captured Moments 3×4 cards CM118, Fire Red Paper Blooms F664, Honey Paper Blooms F628, Olive Paper Blooms F633, Chevron – Mint Printed Tape PT215, Cream Lace EM927, Stars Template T616, Basecoat Christmas Clear Stamp Set CS185, Black Ink Pad IP719, Double Sided Tape T314, Foam Tape T303.

And lastly....a quick & simple card

Using a variety of papers from the paper pad, some paper blooms, Collectables, Lace & Rhinestones

With the centre Collectables piece raised up on some foam tape....fairly quick & simple - which is how I like to create my cards :)

Kaisercraft Products: Berry P1604, Paper Pad PP947, Basecoat Christmas Captured Moments 3×4 cards CM118, Collectables CT804, Cream Lace EM927, Coconut Paper Blooms F627, Buttercream Paper Blooms F629, Fire Red Mini Paper Blooms F669, Split Pea Rhinestones RS407, White Cards & Envelope pack CD511, Bark Ink Pad IP724, Double Sided Tape T314, Foam Tape T303
Other: Leaf Punch
I hope you have been inspired by both of these fun collections!
Until next time....happy scrapping :)

More MME Jubilee Tangerine by Fiona Johnstone

Hi everyone

I am back using the My Minds Eye Jubilee Tangerine range once more. I've created two more layouts with this range to share with you today. I adore these fantastic colours, such fun to play around with.

First up, Travel Bug

The map patterned paper was perfect to help tell the story of my sons obsession with travel! He has quite the bucket list of places he wants to visit and what he wants to do there.  This was complimented nicely by the 2Crafty globe and October Afternoon travel girl flair button.

A close up of my layers & embellishments - the globe, flair button and some of the MME Tangerine Mixed Bag embellishments.

Another close-up of my top embellishment cluster, a mix of Kaisercraft, MME and Simple stories embellishments and title using October Afternoon stickers:

And a final close-up of my journaling - the places Zane is keen to visit next are Egypt and the catacombs in Paris!!

My second share for this week is another page about my boy, I do love this range so much for "boyish" layouts.

Limited Edition
For the background of this layout, I have used my dylusions spray and a mix of stamps. I have then added my journaling along the top going around the page. Then I have layered a lovely mix of these gorgeous MME Jubilee Tangerine papers along the length of the page, finishing off with MME embellishments,  some wood veneer shapes and 2Crafty star and title.

A close-up of my title, Limited Edition, from 2Crafty chipboard which I have inked and then stamped over with gesso and black ink.

On this close-up you can see some of my stamping detail, my 2Crafty star which I sprayed with dylusions ink and the #1 badge from the MME Mixed Bag embellishment kit.

And a final close-up of the misting and stamping and part of my journaling border:

Thanks for visiting, be sure to check out this fab range in store, you can find the MME Jubilee Tangerine range here.

Till next week
Fiona

More October Afternoon "Public Library" - by Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone & welcome :)

Today I am back to share another layout using the October Afternoon "Public Library" collection.
As I said last week, this collection would be well suited for any theme of layout, and not just library, reading or book type layouts.

This week my layout is far from being book or library themed.....

"Funny Faces"
(based on the Scrap the Girls September sketch)

Again, I've used the "Reference Section" paper for my background...which is the same  background paper that I used for last weeks layout, except this is the reverse side.  I just LOVED both sides of this paper, so had to make sure I got 2 sheets to play with so that I could use both sides!    I've trimmed it down to approx 29cm & have mounted it onto a piece of "Sh-h-h" paper (after cutting out the centre of the paper for future use on other pages), and then machine stitched a couple of rows around the edges.

The flourish/swirl is 2Crafty - Maggie's Swirl that I've coated in gesso & then lightly inked, and the rest of my cluster is made up of Green Tara & Petaloo flowers & some diecut
pieces from the Tidbits pack.

Another cluster made up of 2Crafty chipboard - Doilie, with the same gesso & ink...and more Green Tara & Petaloo flowers.  The flair is an October Afternoon 9 to 5 Tin Pin.

I've mounted each photo on some layers of patterned paper that are at different angles & have also added a few tabs & arrows from the Tidbits pack.  I have added a small amount of stamping on the background using Kasiercraft's "Arty" texture stamp

The strips running across & under the photos are small strips cut from the "Library Card" paper,
plus one of the Border Strip stickers....none of the pieces run in under the photos or clusters, they are just small pieces tucked in under the edges.   Pics are of my DD & one of her friends while at a wedding earlier this year, having some fun taking selfies & pulling some funny faces, as you do whilst at a wedding!....lol

Well, that is all from me for this week....I hope you have enjoyed seeing the versatility of this fab collection.  Until next time....happy scrapping :)
