Kaisercraft "Tea Break" - by Linda Eggleton

Hello there everyone, and welcome :)

Today I have a layout to share using the gorgeous Kaisercraft "Tea Break" collection....and to show how versatile this collection is, my layout is nothing about tea, or breaks, or anything like that.
I've created a baby girl layout using this gorgeous collection....about my great niece who is now about 6 weeks old.  AND, I have created 2 different versions of the same layout....

"Olivia Grace"
(A full list of products used, including links, can be seen at the bottom of my post)

This is the end result from my first little play, using the seriously gorgeous Truffle specialty paper for my background, and as you can see, I just left the background plain.

But then I thought, maybe it's too plain?!?
So decided to add a bit of background work....

So with just a bit of modelling paste & Prima Circular Lattice template, this was the result.
I am a little undecided which one I prefer, perhaps leaning more towards the one with the added background work (although it's a little too late to go back to the original now anyway!! lol) ....what do you think?

Here are a few close ups....

My main cluster - which is sitting on one of the gorgeous floral pieces from the Collectables pack.
A few Kaisercraft paper blooms, Flutteby Designs flair button & some punched butterflies.

One of the Rub-ons....the wording was perfect <3

And here you can see one of the 2 Crafty clock frames, that I coated in gesso, and finished it off with a coat of Liquid Pearls to give it a nice shimmer effect, and it frames my photo & layered papers nicely :)
You can also see one of the border stickers from the sticker sheet, running along the bottom of the photo.

Title and strip journaling

A different angled view of the cluster where you can see the butterflies a bit better & more of the floral die-cut from the Collectables pack.

Thanks so much for visiting today....I hope you have been inspired :)

Cheers, Linda xx

More Kaisercraft Violet Crush - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello

Back again today with another layout using Kaisercrafts Violet Crush range. Today's layout is of my daughter dressed up as Rapunzel from the movie Tangled. My title is a 2Crafty chipboard design that was custom made for me. You can get any chipboard title you like made to suit your page at All About Scrapbooks.

To create this layout, I have applied a thin coat of gesso to the background to soften the black. Then I have layered paper strips, before adding some stamps and drawing a few circles to contain the photos.

A couple of close ups:

I've layered a chipboard flower here with a flair button and a butterfly sticker. You can see some of the random stamping on the background. My quote is from the movie "Tangled."

This close up shows the flowers with some chipboard flourishes to finish off the cluster. You can also see some of the circle and stamped background work.

Thanks for stopping by
Fiona

Simple Stories - I {heart} Summer - by Linda Eggleton

Hello again everyone, and welcome!

I'm back again today to share a layout & card using Simple Stories - I {heart} Summer....which is such a bright, fun collection to create with!  Perfect for all those summer holiday pics, but it is a very versatile range, that any type of layout could be created with it.

My layout is based on the January sketch over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook
(an online digital scrap mag blog)

"Chillaxin"

I have created a patchwork effect using squares of "Feel the Breeze" paper, with strips of the "Yellow Boardwalk" paper stitched in between them to help give them more definition.  I have added my journaling around the edge of the page as a border.
I backed my photo with one of the Sn@p cuts & places a piece of the "Yellow Boardwalk" paper in behind the hearts to help them stand out, plus I outlined them with my journaling pen.

A cluster of flowers, brads & one of the flair badges from the collection...plus a few of the stickers from the sticker sheet.

Here you can see a bit of a close up of the stitched strips between the squares...plus another flair badge & word/phrase stickers.

This cute little camera comes in the Decorative Brad pack....oh so cute!!
And there are soooo many brads in this pack that I've been able to add a few to each of my projects this month, and there are still quite a few left over!  <3

Now for my card

"With Love"

I've used a few layers of patterned paper, topped with a heart shaped Sn@p Cut.
And again, I've used the yellow alpha stickers from the Expressions sticker sheet to form my sentiment.

A close up of my cluster.....a few flowers, decorative brad & 2 Crafty chipboard butterfly, with a few punched leaves to finish it all off.

(See below for a full list of products used for both my layout & card)

Thanks so much for dropping by today to look at my work.....I hope you have been inspired :)
Until next time...happy scrapping!

Linda  xx

Kaisercraft Violet Crush - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Today I am sharing a layout created using Kaisercrafts Violet Crush collection. I know purple isn't everyones cup of tea, but as it is my daughters favourite colour, I am always excited by ranges that have purple in them and I love this one! It is a really pretty range.

There is always so much in these Kaisercraft collections, you really don't need to go searching too much for anything else to add - especially with the fabulous full sheet of butterfly stickers - it's awesome!!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I've layered some of the fabulous embellishments from the Collectibles pack here, lots of flowers and journaling cards as well as even more butterflies!!

This side you can see more layered flowers as well as closer detail of the butterflies, this one is from the sticker set and I have given all the butterflies some dimension by using foam tape under their wings.
I hope I have inspired you to have a play with some purple paper for a change!!

Till next time
Fiona

February Crop Day & Classes

Hi everyone,

I know this post only applies to Sydneysiders, but I need to be able to share this
information here, so please bear with us if you are not local.

February crop day is the 8th February and is almost full, so if you are interested
in coming, please don't hesitate in letting me know.  Crop and classes
are held at Gymea Baptist Church and details can be found under the Crop Day banner
in the Blog header.

I wanted to pop by today and share the classes that will be held during this day, for
those of you who may not be able to come and spend the day with us, but
who may wish to come and take a class.

All classes are held in a separate room, and not with the girls who are there cropping
for the day.  Classes run for approximately 2 hours and you will need to bring
your normal crafting tools/basic kit.

The fee under each class, includes the class fee and the class kit, so tools and photos are
all you will need to bring, unless specified under the class sneak peek photo.

We have 2 classes being held in the morning and one in the afternoon, you are welcome
to just come for the class, and do not have to participate in the 12 hour crop day.

Firstly, Fiona is teaching the following page at 10am on the 8th, please be there at least
10 minutes before to get organised so that class can start on time.

Just a small sneak peek

In this class, Fiona will show you how to make a background, using
Dylusions sprays, mask and texture paste.
Using Crate paper - Maggie Holmes Flea Market range to finish it off.
Layout suited to predominately a feminine theme (as is very pink).

Fiona has used one 4x6" portrait photo in colour.  And has used the Title - Precious,
if you'd like something else, please let me know when booking and I will organise
that for you before class.

Please note that numbers are limited, so please book in early to secure your place.
Cost is $23 and includes class fee and kit.

***********************

Darelle's Card Class - 10.30am on the 8th, please be there at least 10 minutes before
to get organised so that class can start on time.

In this class you will make a set of 3 cards, these cards would be suitable for
Valentines, Wedding,  Anniversaries or just to let someone know you "love them".
All cards are decorate inside and out.

The middle card has an envelope to place a photo or a CD or a pocket for a gift card
or similar, and has tags etc to write on.

Kit includes everything you will need to complete these card and the cost is $20 and includes class fee and kit.  Again, numbers are very limited, so please book in early to avoid disappointment.

*************************

And for our afternoon class, Darelle will teach this Heritage Style Double-page Layout

Just a sneak peek

In this class, you will be playing around with stencils, inks and highlight paint.
Darelle has used heritage photos on the layout, but the vibrant blue colour will
 lend itself to any photos.
Darelle has used one 6x4" and one 5x7" landscape photos, but you could also use
portrait photos as well.

Numbers for this layout are limited, and the cost of this double-page
layout is $28 and includes the class fee and kit

To book into any of these classes, please send me an email via
 or via the FB page
please not all classes will require a deposit to be paid to secure your spot.

Prima "Sunrise-Sunset" & Kaisercraft "Key to my Heart" - by Linda Eggleton

Hi there everyone and welcome to the AAS blog today :)

I have 2 layouts to share today....
The first one is using Kaisercraft's "Key to my Heart" collection
& is based on the January challenge at Scrap Around the World....

"Forever Friends"

Firstly, I just have to say that the colours & patterns in this collection are just gorgeous!
Which makes creating with them so easy & such a joy :)

I've used lots of small cut pieces of PP & collectables die-cuts to layer in behind the photo of myself & my DD.  Plus a few pieces of 2Crafty chipboard in there as well, and also some
cut up pieces of an old lace doily, which adds some great texture.

All the flowers are Manor House Creations...and have been altered with either Gelato's
and/or Gesso.  There's also a Flutterby flair button & some 2Crafty skeleton leaves layered in with some die-cut leaves.

Here is a close up of another smaller cluster...again, with the flowers being altered.

Here you can see some of the background work, using a few different templates & mediums - texture paste & glimmermists.

Here you can see where I've used a 2Crafty Vintage Oval frame that I cut in half to put
behind my photo... top and bottom.  I gave the frame a coat of Tim Holtz distress crackle paint & then added a touch of gesso here and there.

For my title I've used the words Forever & Friends from the 2crafty ATC Card
Word packs - Friendship, and they have been altered with a coat of gesso & then coloured with a soft pink Gelato.

And here's a bit of a side on view where you can get an idea of the layers that I've created :)

Ok, next up is using Prima Sunrise-Sunset collection....another stunning collection to work with!!
(This one would have to be my most favourite Prima paper ranges....ever!)
My layout is based on the January sketch challenge at Once Upon a Sketch

"Lessons from Dunloe Gap"

Pic is from our recent trip to Ireland...at an amazing place called Dunloe Gap.
Some more Manor House Creations flowers that I've altered with colour, plus a
few Kaisercraft blooms, Prima Vintage Mechanicals, and again, some more 2Crafty chipboard.

I cut up the 2Crafty Lavendar Shrub into smaller pieces & spread it around my cluster, altering it with gesso & acrylic paint.

Another small cluster of flowers & a button...and you can also see some stamped circles using a toilet roll & gesso...I love using simple stuff like this on my layouts :)

My title....and some of the background work using a Crafters Workshop template
with modelling paste & embossing powder...plus you can see a little peek of some
mesh tape that I've coloured with a brown Gelato to help it stand out against the background,
plus to blend in with the colours in my photo.

Some more of the template work & cluster.

And some basic journaling....yep, on journaling strips AGAIN! lol
Plus I have a whole heap of journaling on the back of the layout as well.

And an overall close up with some 2crafty filmstrip poking out either side of my photo.

I hope you like what you see and have been inspired :)
Thanks so much for visiting today....take care & happy scrapping!

Linda xx

Simple Stories - Urban Traveler by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Today I am sharing a boy layout created using the Simple Stories Urban Traveler range of papers and combined them with a background paper from the Simple Stories I {heart} Summer range. Love these board backgrounds.

I have used a couple of stamps to add some detail to the background,
then layered my papers & vellum. I used a snap set card as my title
and finished the layout off with some simple embellishments:
a chipboard view finder, camera paper clip, some stickers and flair buttons.

A couple of close-ups:

A Jillibean sticker, an arrow a Bingo card and a flair button

A close-up of the stamping and another flair badge with the camera paper clip.

Thanks for stopping by

More Simple Stories - "I {heart} Summer" inspiration - with Linda Eggleton

A big hello there everyone....happy Friday to you all!

I am back today to share some more inspiration using Simple Stories "I {heart} Summer" collection, which is such a bright & cheery one - perfect for all those summer/holiday/vacation pics!

First up I have a layout...

"Kioloa Beach Fun"
(Based on 1st Jan Stuck?! sketch)

I've used a variety of papers, stickers, brads & flair badges from the collection & will go into more detail with my close up shots...plus a full list of products used, with links, is at the bottom of my post.
Pics are from our 1 week getaway over Christmas down the south coast at a little place called Kioloa.
My dog Oscar had a ball....his first time ever going to the beach! :)

Here you can see my main cluster of Green Tara flowers & one of the Simple Stories flair badges....plus alpha stickers from the Expressions cardstock stickers for my title, which I've outlined in a black journal pen.

Here I've cut a few tags from the Newsprint side of the Yellow Boardwalk/Newsprint PP....with a few stickers added on top and also some twine tied onto the ends of the tags.

Here are a few of the brads from the Decorative Brads pack....and you can also see some of my stamping on the Teal Boardwalk paper, using Kaisercraft crackle stamp.

I've used some of the leftover pieces of the 2Crafty Circular Panel from last month's kit....adding them either side of my cluster & journaling (I have more journaling on the back of my layout as well)

And here you can see a bit of a close up of the template work on the background.
Just some modelling paste spread onto The Crafters Workshop "Paint Lids" template....very easily done & I love the effect :)

Ok, my 2nd share is a really simple card.
No fuss, no mess....just simple layering of a few papers for this one, with a few added brads.

Thanks so much for dropping by today....
Take care & happy scrapping!!  xx
